Slovenia uses the same 230 V, 50 Hz system as many EU countries with the standard two-pin plug and socket. If you are coming from the US check your devices if they are single voltage or dual. Avoiding bringing hair dryers or straighteners abroad as even with a converter and adaptor they can be damaged. If you are traveling by bus or train from a neighboring country you will arrive in the center of Ljubljana. If you are flying to Ljubljana you will land at the Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, which like most airports, isn’t in the center. It is in Brnik which is about a 25-30 minute drive. The cheapest option is by bus which runs from the city center to the airport and back throughout the day. It leaves the airport at the top of the hour. Look for bus number 28, the journey takes about 50 minutes, but the tickets are less than €5. Here is the timetable to help plan your trip.īook Taxi offers transfers for €28. If a taxi quotes more than €35 for the city center then just simply move on to the next. *Be especially mindful of this as a friend was scammed and charged €70!*Īlternatively, if you want a cheaper option, but not a bus, there are various shuttle companies that run from the airport to the city center but it is advised to book in advance. I always recommend GoOpti for airport transfers from Venice airport (which is often the cheapest way to travel to Slovenia). They are incredibly reliable and efficient with various pricing depending on your wallet and patience. Gostilna Na Gradu is one of my favorite restaurants in Slovenia. We could tell that she really loves what she does and she is a great asset to the team.Every dish has been incredible and the wine pairings are always spot on. She also gave us lots of extra sightseeing tips for our other days in Slovenia as well as recommending some great places to eat that are veggie friendly. There is no shortage of food on this tour and everything was paced perfectly! Our guide Alenka was absolutely lovely, a great guide and very knowledgeable about Slovenian food as well as the wine and craft beer scene. We booked a walking food tour for the first day of our stay in Ljubljana and it was a perfect way to be introduced to Ljubljana and Slovenia! We are both vegetarians but we did not feel that we missed out on trying traditional Slovenian food in any way. Thank you Iva and Ljubljana Yum, we will be recommending you to everyone. You feel welcomed and involved at all times. No more than 6 in each group means it’s personal and different to the other group tours, you don’t feel like a sheep.
#VINOTEKA LJUBLJANA FULL#
We were full by the end and feel like we have discovered new tastes, a new culture and new places we wouldn’t have discovered on our own. but I’m told the stops and dishes change all the time according to the season and produce available.

I’d never had beef tongue for breakfast till today.

Each stop was of the highest quality with top notch food and attentive staff, you really get the feeling you are getting in on the local treasures and cuisines. She is extremely passionate about her country and its food, and was very knowledgeable about everything. Iva, the company founder was our guide and from the first moment we met I knew we would all have fun. It’s a must do in Ljubljana and good to do it on your first day as you’ll learn a lot about the city as you walk around. Wow wow wow, my boyf and I cannot rate this tour highly enough.
